What this policy covers
Handyman Mauritius is an independent home maintenance publication and browser-based toolbox. It is not a contractor or referral directory. This policy describes data handled by this website.
Data you choose to provide
The contact form asks for your name, email address, topic, and message. Newsletter forms ask for your email address. We use those details to handle the request you made and maintain subscription preferences. Do not send access codes, alarm details, identity documents, payment data, or sensitive information about your home.
AI home guide
The chat panel is an optional AI feature. When you submit a chat message, the recent conversation is sent to OpenAI to generate a response. Do not include confidential or identifying information. The assistant can be wrong, cannot inspect a home, and is not an emergency, diagnosis, quotation, or referral service.
Browser-only tools
Triage choices, trade-finder answers, quote figures, and checklist ticks are calculated or stored in your browser. Those selections are not sent to us by the tools. Normal network and security data may still be processed to deliver the page.
Analytics and service providers
When analytics is enabled, the site loads a self-hosted Umami script to measure aggregate use. Hosting, email, newsletter storage, database, security, and AI providers may process limited data to provide those services. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Retention and security
We retain personal data only as needed for the purpose collected, operational records, subscription preferences, and applicable obligations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data, or object to some processing, by emailing [email protected]. We may need to verify the request.
Safety information
Content is general educational information. It does not inspect a property, diagnose a fault, certify a trade, quote a job, or replace emergency and qualified professional help. Follow current instructions from the responsible Mauritian authority.
